With every book I read, I get a little bit more excited to read another one. So I don't want to break the flow and my aim is to read at least two books this semester. Reading naturally broadens my vocabulary, which is one of my biggest weaknesses, and also helps with training following a longer story as well. To add to this, I want to keep reading articles about football as it might be helpful not only for broadening my vocabulary but also as a research for my Bachelor thesis.

Writing

Honestly, I truly enjoy writing and I would say I'm finally getting better at using punctuation which used to be a big issue for me as the rules are different for the Czech language. Don't get me wrong, there is definitely still a lot of room for improvement. This semester, I would like to continue with English online and rather than a lot of short texts, I would like to write some that will be more elaborate so they require larger use of linking words and punctuation.

Speaking

Since the beginning of the first semester, my pronunciation has changed massively. The phonetics classes truly helped me and to be honest, I am a bit sad we can't have more of them as I would definitely enjoy more practice. I think I managed quite well to get rid of the common Czech mistakes such as mixing up /θ/ and /f/ as well as /ð/ and /d/ and the wrong pronunciation of /ŋ/. However, I still want to work on using weak forms and sounding a bit more fluent. I think I can only achieve that by talking to native speakers as much as possible on an intensive level, and that is the goal for this semester.
